Care & Maintenance

Made from durable materials, our classic and functional bags are designed to last for many years. With just a few simple steps, you can ensure your bag stays in great condition for a long time.

Our best tips:

  1. Avoid machine washing. Use a damp cloth to remove dirt.
  2. Use an impregnation spray on water-repellent products like our No Rain styles to maintain their properties.
  3. If any seams break, the design makes it easy to sew them back together.
  4. Replace damaged zippers, buttons, or metal parts to extend your bag’s lifespan.
  5. Reuse your bag by gifting, selling, or donating it.

Microfiber, Nylon, and Polyester

You only need a few items to clean your nylon and microfiber accessories: a soft brush, a cloth, and liquid soap.

Before starting, identify what type of stain you are removing, as this determines the method.

If you spill something on your accessory, remove the stain immediately to avoid permanent marks. Use a damp, soft white cloth and gently wipe the stain with cold water. If necessary, apply a small amount of liquid soap. Dry your accessory immediately with a hairdryer on low heat.

If you spill oil—such as car oil, salad dressing, or body oil—remove as much of the grease as possible right away. Use a damp soft cloth to blot the stain, then sprinkle baking soda over it. Using a soft brush, gently rub the powder into the fibers.

  • Avoid using detergents on microfiber unless they are specifically made for it.
  • Do not use bleach-based cleaners on any microfiber.
  • Do not wait to treat stains; the longer you wait, the harder they are to remove.
  • Microfibers are heat-sensitive; do not tumble dry or blow-dry directly with hot air.
  • Do not soak your nylon or microfiber bag in water.

Cotton Canvas

Our canvas bags are made from woven fabrics such as cotton, linen, or hemp — materials that are extremely durable and robust.

Empty your bag completely and remove dust and dirt before cleaning.

Use a damp, soft white cloth with warm water. Wring out excess water and wipe the bag carefully but firmly. Avoid washing leather trims, buttons, inserts, or appliqués.

Also avoid colored areas that could fade or bleed.

If the bag is made entirely of woven fabric, you can soak it in a basin with warm water and a small amount of mild soap, provided any prints or embellishments can tolerate water contact.

Leather

Our leather bags are made from natural hide and are unique.

Each piece of leather has a distinctive appearance with small imperfections and irregularities that give it an authentic look.

Fortunately, caring for leather is simple. Marks and scratches can, when treated properly, enhance the leather’s natural beauty.

Most stains can be removed with warm soapy water. Use a damp, soft white cloth to gently clean until the stains are gone, then dry the area with a clean cloth.

For stubborn stains, use a leather care kit and follow the included instructions carefully.

To treat deeper scratches and worn edges, use a leather balm and sponge to restore the natural shine by rehydrating the material. This also helps keep the leather soft and resistant to everyday wear and tear.

Silk

Silk is a luxurious material with a beautiful surface and a soft, feather-light feel.

If you want to keep your silk accessories in perfect condition, handle them gently.

Silk is best hand-washed with mild detergent. Soak your accessory in warm water for 3–5 minutes with a small amount of detergent, then wrap it in a dry towel to remove excess water.

If stained, do not rub the spot with water — this may cause color fading. A few drops of vinegar can help remove stains. You may iron silk, but always on the reverse side and at low heat. Silk is delicate and should remain slightly damp. Avoid direct sunlight for long periods, as it may cause fading or yellowing.

Wool

If you care for your wool accessories properly, they’ll keep you warm for years.

It’s best to hand wash your favorite wool items. If you’re short on time and the label says “hand wash,” you can use the machine’s hand or wool cycle.

Wash in lukewarm or cold water with mild soap or detergent. Soak for 3–5 minutes and gently remove excess water by rolling your accessory in a towel. Lay flat to dry.

Travel Care Tips:

  • Fold or loosely roll your accessory in tissue paper to maintain its shape and prevent wrinkles.
  • If it gets wrinkled, hang it in a steamy bathroom or lightly steam or iron it on low heat.

Mesh

Most of our sports bags are made of mesh, a strong and stylish material. As a rule, empty dirty clothes or food from your bag daily.

If you notice stains, use a soft cloth with warm soapy water and gently rub in circular motions. Allow the bag to dry completely — inside and out — overnight.

Jacquard Fabric

To maintain your jacquard accessories, dust them off with a soft brush or damp sponge.

Avoid direct sunlight or exposure to chemicals when drying.

Rhinestones and Beads

DAY ET bags and accessories decorated with rhinestones or beads are unique. Some may come loose over time, but this does not reduce the product’s value. Handle with care to extend its lifespan.

Denim

If you own a denim bag, note that the dye may transfer to light-colored clothing or furniture. If it gets dirty, wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Keep it away from light surfaces while drying, as the color may bleed. The rich color may fade gradually over time.
